Development

The GIS application system must be designed and developed by SuperMap software, combining with mainstream IT technology to represent GIS value in various fields. The theme and topics are free. It will be an opportunity to show your ability of system design, software development, application innovation, as well as problem analysis and solving.

Entry Requirements

General

1 Works must be original and conform to the open source rules. The copyright always belongs to the original author while the Contest Committee has the right to make public.

2 All the participants should be responsible for the copyright. If works involve reference or quote, please indicate at the end of the reports. Otherwise, the Contest Committee will hold the right to cancel the awards and withdraw the bonuses and certificates of prizes due to infringement reasons.

All the works must be base on the SuperMap Software below, with the version of 10i or above.

Data

1 The data used in the entries can be the map data published by nations or relevant organizations, or the big data or other source data provided by Internet enterprises。

2 Please ensure the legitimacy of the data source and the right of using and releasing data.

3 The map content shall conform to the relevant policies and laws of each country, and shall fully represent the territory of each country.

Judging Criteria

Functions are designed for industry characteristics and closely integrated with GIS. It can meet the actual needs of the industry and has promotional value. 15
The design scheme is advanced, the overall design is reasonable and the system functions are complete, which represent the mainstream IT and GIS technology. 15
System implementation (30) The code structure is clear and the code is standardized. The functional modules are implemented according to the system design requirements. 10
The data content is rich, the data production is standardized. The display is artistic and can meet the application system demand. 10
Complete packaging, convenient installation/deployment, stable and efficient system, no serious system errors. 10
User experience (10) The interface, menu design and operation are simple and clear. 5
Optimize the performance of maps or scenes. There is no system stuck in roaming operation. 5
System display(20) Clear description, which can be able to explain the ideas and processes. 15
The video demo (no more than 15 minutes) is required to emphasize the functions and designing highlights, and display the operation steps.The vocal explanation and PowerPoint instructions can be provided.. 5
Extra score (10) 1. Use mobile SDK for secondary development and submit to App Store or other application market (2); make AR map with screen recording of operation (2).2. Submitted works in two or more kinds among WebGIS application system, PC desktop application system and mobile terminal APP (6). 10

Submission

1 Submit system original program, installation package and data.

2 Submit system development documents. (Hints: explain the system outline design and detailed design, and the system development plan and progress to help others understand the system development process.)

3 Ensure the smooth operation of the works. Submit system installation and deployment instruction. (Hints: explain the steps and precautions of software installation or deployment, and system operation methods to help others understand the system installation and operation.)

4 Submit system instruction. (Hints: describe the background and operations of the system to help others understand the operation process of the system.)

5 Submit installation packages of third-party plug-ins if you have used.

6 Submit screenshots of your system (at least 3) and function instruction videos. (No more than 15 minutes with subtitles in English and can be accompanied by voice explanation and PPT presentation. The videos need to be uploaded to YouTube.)

7 Submit a self-evaluation document of the work by the instructor. The document should be submitted in .PDF format (Requirements: concise and clear; 100-200 words). If there is no instructor, then no need to submit.

8 All the files required need to be submitted as compressed files in .ZIP format.
